Violence against women and girls is a grave violation of human rights. It negatively affects women's general well-being and prevents women from fully participating in society.
Violence against women and girls still takes place everyday, inside and outside the European Union. This violation of human rights is pervasive/common and has many different faces: It happens at home, at work, at school, in the street, playing sports or online. It limits women's and girls' full participation in all aspects of society __ political, cultural, social and economic.
